Marconi First Skeet Competition in 31 years

A 31 year drought was broken tonight literally with the cracking of 75 clays when the first skeet competition in as many years was launched at Marconi Clay Target Club in Menai NSW. Some 12 month ago now, Marconi members Andrew Meade, Luke Dixon, Brett Gray and of course Eddie Banana along with a small but fiercely dedicated bunch of skeet shooters formed the 'Dirty Rotten Skeeters' and held their ground with a vice like grip on Trap Layout 1 at the range. They set out to change the waning attitude towards the skeet discipline and increase the faction to high numbers, bringing back their beloved discipline.

A huge thanks must go out to Marconi's Peter and Sharon Phillpott (President/Club Secretary) who have stepped up to the plate for the lads (and gals) and acquired a set of Skeet traps for layout 2. Tonight those traps faultlessly threw their clay targets whilst 5 Squads of skeeters shot them down by the light and smokey scent of drum bonfires!

There are too many characters to mention here but you all know who you are, and we send you all a huge thanks for all the effort, from the digging of the power cable trench to the cooking of the BBQ, the sum of it all was what has made this evening such a memorable success. Tonight marks the first in what is sure to be the successful regular return of Competition Skeet to the best clay target club in Sydney...MARCONI CLAY TARGET CLUB!
