Marconi Falcon 100

Sunday 4th February, 2018 6TH ANNUAL MARCONI FALCON 100

And so ends another incredible shoot day at Marconi Clay Target Club. A beautiful day with a top temperature of 29 degrees and light to moderately strong wind conditions giving rise to a few surprise clays which I am sure many will agree presented us all with a challenging day of shooting.

We saw 26 squads shape up to battle out for more than $17,000 in prizes, a fantastic turnout.

Light conditions were excellent most of the day, partly cloudy skies but nothing overly challenging from that perspective.

The battle was fierce, however having tried for 3 years running, Aaron Jones was triumphant taking out the overall with a score of 199/200.

Today was also the official opening of the newly renovated Bathroom facilities. We thank everyone involved in their construction and a huge thanks goes out to Angelo Lekkas and his team at Profile Plumbing for making our tired and stinky old bathrooms shine once more. They are an absolute delight to behold. Well done!

A huge thanks must go out to Tony in the Kitchen, Holly for her newly appointed role of Marconi Master Barista. To Pam Trew, your dedication to our sport over your life has been tremendous and is showing no signs of stopping soon. Pam celebrated her 80th Birthday yesterday, a testimony to lifelong love of the sport.

To all members of the Marconi Committee for their tireless efforts in ensuring the shoot ran smoothly. To Grant Buckley, for turning himself literally black mowing the entire range on Friday afternoon to make for beautiful grounds on the day.

To Chris the trapper, who keeps our traps well stocked and ensures we have few if any hiccups during each round.

To Dino Barros, whose sponsorship of the guns on the day is the ultimate reason for the success of the Falcon 100 each year. You can never be thanked enough for your humble dedication to club and members alike.

And last but certainly never least, to our club President and Secretary Peter and Sharon Phillpott. Enough can never be spoken for the time and effort that you both endure, week after week to run our beloved club. Your dedication and selflessness can never be contradicted. Without you both, our club would never be what it is today. I hope you will all join me and give a heartfelt THANK YOU to you both for all that you endure.
