Queens Birthday Shoot

Thank you Ghazi for looking down upon us and bringing us such a beautiful warm Winters day for our Queens Birthday Shoot. The weather could not have been more pleasant.

A fantastic turnout, 19 full squads of shooters battling it out for over $8000 in prizes from The Good Guys in Caringbah. 43" Large Screen TVs, Weber Q 2000 BBQs and Hi Sense refrigerators for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places. Veterans winner took a 32" UHD TV, Ladies winner took a Nespresso Home Coffee Machine and Juniors winner received a Google Home.

Our shoot got underway at 10am. Four layouts supported our troops and were throwing beautiful clay targets throughout the day with minimal problems. The new footpath was a welcomed treat loved by all. The days of trampling through mud and dirt are behind us thanks to Rob Damcevski (MixNit), Enzo Dimeglio, Boral Australia, The Tool Store, Ausreo, JA Constructions, K&S Bush Transport, Maurice Nasr and all the people who gave themselves to the construction of the pathway recently, thank you and a massive well done!

The morning started off with the Double Barrel and Single Barrel. Many shooters coming up with the goods for a bit of red texta on the scoreboard. The smell of Tony's BBQ lunch looming in the air around midday. After a quick feed, shooters took to the layouts for the Points Score which evened out the runnings. The double rise would surely be the decider for many a shooter in the single event today.

Only one shoot off was called for 3rd in AA grade and the shooters decided to split the prize. We are still wondering how to split a fridge down the middle, but we are keen to find out how they did it. I worry that the beer will be warm, good luck with it gents.

A huge congratulations must go out to Matt Patmore who was only 1 target down for the whole day, what a great effort indeed...WELL SHOT!

Big thanks as always to Sharon and Pam in the office, Chris the trapper who runs his butt off all day in support of the shoots. Tony in the kitchen and his lovely assistant. To Chris & Megan Dorahy for all their help throughout the day and for running the raffle. To Paul Balestro whose tireless efforts to open up for the day and clean up the grounds afterwards your efforts do not go unnoticed. And a big well done to the Marconi committee for their organisation and getting the message out there. 19 Squads! You should all be very proud!

President Pete and his shoot marshalling kept the competition rolling smooth as always, thanks Peter!
